Mieczyslaw "Mickey Doyle" Kuzik

Mickey Doyle sidles into Atlantic City's bootlegging trade as a small-time operator angling to be useful to bigger men, especially Nucky Thompson. He laughs at everything, agrees with whoever's in the room, and never quite commits to a side. Underneath the toupee and the giggle is a man calculating exactly how far obsequiousness will get him.

Paul Sparks turns a nervous cackle into a character study — Mickey's laugh is armor, deflection, and threat assessment all at once, deployed whenever the air in a room gets dangerous. The writing keeps using him as comic relief, but Sparks never lets you forget he's watching everyone, calculating his own survival with a sliminess that's funnier for being so transparent.
