Meesh

Meesh is the interpreter attached to the Marines of Bravo Company as they push into Iraq, the civilian voice tasked with explaining the invasion to villagers who have no reason to trust it. He works the gap between orders and reality, translating not just words but intentions, trying to keep something honest alive in an impossible job.

He's the show's conscience by necessity rather than speechmaking, a man whose competence and frustration surface in small moments rather than monologues. Nabil Elouahabi plays him with weary precision, letting exhaustion and decency show through procedure, which makes Meesh one of the few people in the convoy who seems to actually see the war happening around him.
