Mayuri Shiina

Mayuri is Okabe's childhood friend and the gentle constant in the lab, working part-time in a maid café and drifting through her days with a dreamy, unhurried warmth. She calls Okabe by his self-styled mad-scientist alias without irony, worries about everyone's meals and moods, and seems untouched by the tension building around her.

Kana Hanazawa gives her a soft, sing-song cadence that could read as simple comic relief, but the writing keeps threading small aches beneath her cheerfulness — loneliness, a fear of being forgotten. That gap between her placid surface and what the story slowly reveals she's carrying is what makes her impossible to look away from.
