Mayor's Date

She appears at the Mayor's side, a companion for a New New York official whose ambitions and vanity tend to outsize his charm. Little is asked of her beyond decorative presence at whatever function has brought the two of them together, and the show gives her only the barest sketch of a role.

Futurama often built entire jokes out of background figures like this, letting a single throwaway pairing say something about the Mayor's self-regard without spending real screen time on it. Tress MacNeille, an old hand at filling out a world's edges, gives the part just enough texture to land the gag and vanish.
