Max Piotrowski

Max is a CIA surveillance technician, one of the quiet analysts running wires and cameras on Carrie Mathison's operations. He's meticulous, a little awkward, and fiercely loyal to Carrie even when her methods worry him. He watches everything, says little, and clearly cares more about doing the job right than about rank or credit.

Sterling plays him as the unglamorous conscience of the operation—the guy in headphones who actually listens. Against the show's parade of spies and liars, Max's plainness and decency register as almost startling, and the writing uses his steadiness to measure how far the people around him have drifted from it.
