Marie Schrader

Marie is Skyler's sister and Hank's wife, a hospital radiologic technologist who talks a mile a minute, decorates everything in purple, and has a habit of shoplifting small things she doesn't need. She's nosy, opinionated, and quick to insert herself into other people's business, usually while insisting she's only trying to help.

Brandt plays Marie as comic relief with a live wire underneath — the chattiness and control-freak tendencies read as funny until you notice how much anxiety they're covering. The show uses her nosiness as a running joke and then, quietly, as a genuine source of tension in the family, and Brandt never lets you settle on just one reading of her.
