Man in Commercial

A nameless pitchman glimpsed inside one of Futurama's fake ads, hawking some future-world product with the plastic enthusiasm of every infomercial huckster before him. He exists for a few seconds, grinning at the camera, entirely unbothered by whatever absurd or dangerous item he's selling.

John DiMaggio, already doing heavy lifting elsewhere in the cast, tosses off this throwaway pitchman with the same gusto he gives Bender, and that commitment is the joke. The gag lives and dies in seconds, but his voice sells the parody of commercial-speak so completely that the blink-and-miss-it bit lands anyway.
