Maggie Hart

Maggie is Marty Hart's wife, raising their two young daughters while her husband works a case with his prickly new partner Rust Cohle. She's warm and sharp-eyed, running the household with quiet competence, and unfailingly polite to Rust even as she clocks exactly what's going on beneath her husband's easy charm.

Monaghan plays Maggie as nobody's fool from the first scene, giving the show's macho double-act a steady, clear-eyed counterweight. The interview-framing device lets her speak with hindsight, and Monaghan uses that distance beautifully — measured, faintly amused, never quite telling you everything she knows.
