Lucy Moran

Lucy is the sheriff station's receptionist, fielding calls in a helium-pitched chirp that treats every complication as either an emergency or a delightful puzzle. She's precise to the point of absurdity, prone to long-winded clarifications, and fiercely proud of her post at the front desk of a town suddenly overrun by murder and FBI agents.

Kimmy Robertson finds a whole comic register in bureaucratic fussiness, turning simple phone messages into elaborate set pieces without ever winking at the audience. Lucy is funny precisely because she's sincere—Twin Peaks needs someone who reacts to horror with the same flustered thoroughness she brings to sorting mail, and she supplies the show's clearest dose of small-town normalcy.
