Lucy Freeman

Lucy Freeman works inside the BBC's tangle of committees and vague new job titles, trying to get actual programmes made while everyone around her drifts into meetings about meetings. She is sharp, quietly exasperated, and one of the few people in the building who seems to notice how ridiculous it all is.

Nina Sosanya plays her as the show's dry ballast — she doesn't need to overact the absurdity because her raised eyebrow and clipped patience do it for her. Against a cast of enthusiastic jargon-merchants, Lucy's weary competence becomes the funniest, most relatable position in the room.
