Lucius Vorenus

A Roman centurion of the Thirteenth Legion, Vorenus is a man of rigid principle in an age that has none — devout, disciplined, and quietly unhappy at how far the Republic has drifted from the values he still holds sacred. He wants order, honor, and a home to return to, and he says little he doesn't mean.

McKidd plays him with a coiled stillness, a soldier's stoicism that cracks only at the edges, which makes him the show's moral center even as the world around him corrupts itself gleefully. His friendship with the roguish Pullo gives the writing its best contrast: one man improvising through chaos, the other trying to hold a line.
