Luca Hall drifts through Cal State college life with a studied nonchalance, all vintage fits and quiet confidence. He works behind the counter of the campus coffee spot, name-drops music no one else has heard of, and catches Zoey's eye without seeming to try. He's not chasing anything too hard — that's the point.

Luka Sabbat plays him with a stillness that reads as effortless cool rather than indifference, which is the trick of the character: he's a love interest defined by withholding rather than pursuing. The show uses his low-key charm to needle Zoey's more anxious, achievement-driven energy, and Sabbat never overplays the mystery.
