Lt. Commander Geordi LaForge

Blind since birth and seeing through a distinctive VISOR that grants him a wider spectrum than human eyes, Geordi La Forge starts out as the Enterprise's helmsman before settling into his true home as chief engineer. He's earnest, curious, endlessly patient with machinery, and a little awkward with people — a problem-solver who'd rather fix the warp core than navigate a conversation.

Burton plays him without a trace of the era's disability tropes: Geordi's blindness is a fact of his engineering, not a metaphor or a wound. The writing gives him genuine technical competence and real warmth toward his crewmates, and Burton's easy sincerity makes him one of the show's most quietly likable, trustworthy presences.
