Lori Grimes

Lori is Rick's wife, found by him alive in the chaos of the outbreak after he wakes from a coma to find the world gone. She's been surviving with a small group under the assumption that Rick is dead, holding the camp together with a mix of steel and worry. Protective of her son Carl, she's trying to keep some shape of a family intact.

Callies plays the exhaustion of leadership nobody credits her with — she's doing triage on a marriage, a child, and a fracturing camp while everyone treats her as background to Rick's story. The tension between what she says and what she's actually managing gives the character a quiet, coiled unease worth watching closely.
