Little Kleya

Little Kleya is a child alone on a wrecked, dangerous world, living by scavenging and instinct among the ruins of a fallen ship. Wary and silent, she watches every adult who approaches as a threat first and anything else second. She trusts nothing given freely, because nothing ever has been.

April Woods plays her almost wordlessly, and that's the trick: the show trusts a child's stillness and sharp, assessing eyes to convey a whole history of danger without a line of exposition. It's quiet, unsentimental work that makes the adult Kleya's guardedness feel earned rather than told.
