Lionel Preacherbot

Lionel Preacherbot is a robot clergyman who turns up in New New York to officiate weddings, funerals, and whatever solemn occasion the plot requires. He speaks in the flat, dutiful cadence of a machine reciting sacred text, treating each ceremony with the same programmed gravity whether the moment deserves it or not.

The joke is entirely in the contrast: a device built for reverence delivering it with zero feeling, which Phil LaMarr plays absolutely straight. Futurama loves this kind of throwaway world-building, and Preacherbot is a perfect small example — he never needs a story of his own to be funny every time he shows back up.
