Link Hogthrob

Link Hogthrob is Captain of the Swinetrek on "Pigs in Space," a strutting, thick-necked space hero who is far more confident than his competence warrants. He barks orders, poses heroically, and pursues Miss Piggy with clumsy, oblivious charm, treating every crisis as a chance to demonstrate his own dashing bravery.

The joke is entirely in the gap between Link's self-image and reality: he's built like a leading man and thinks like one, but the scripts keep undercutting him with disaster and Piggy's indifference. Henson plays him with a straight-faced, blustering sincerity that never winks at the audience, which is exactly why the deflation lands so well.
