Linda McCray

Linda McCray is Antron's mother, pulled into a police station in the middle of the night believing she's there to help her son, not condemn him. She trusts the detectives' assurances, urges Antron to just tell them what they want to hear, and only slowly grasps the trap closing around her family.

Marsha Stephanie Blake plays the agony of a parent's misplaced faith in authority without ever caricaturing her as naive. The writing lets her love and her fatal cooperation exist in the same breath, and Blake's stricken, quiet unraveling makes Linda's guilt and grief feel unbearably human.
