Linda co-anchors the future's evening news alongside Morbo the Annihilator, delivering apocalyptic bulletins with the same bright, vacant cheer she'd use for a weather report. She wants everyone watching to have a wonderful evening, seemingly untroubled by the fact that her broadcast partner is openly promising the destruction of humanity.
The joke is entirely in the mismatch: Tress MacNeille plays Linda with such sunny, unbothered local-news perkiness that Morbo's booming threats of doom become a punchline about how television smooths over anything. She never needs to change to be funny — the world around her does the work, and she just keeps smiling.
Linda van Schoonhoven (born December 29, 2970) is the co-anchor of Channel √2 News and Good Morning, Earth with Morbo. She also became a Feminista during Into the Wild Green Yonder. Linda is probably of Dutch origin. She is obsessed with alcoholic drinks because in "Benderama", after all alcohol is gone, she appears to go crazy and screams that she cannot face her children.
