Leo D'Amato

Leo D'Amato is a young Neptune sheriff's deputy who catches Veronica's eye and, more usefully to her, has access to police files. Easygoing and a little smitten, he flirts back without much guile, unaware that half of what draws her to him is the badge rather than the boy wearing it.

He's a rare patch of decency inside a police department otherwise defined by laziness and corruption, and Max Greenfield plays him with an unforced, sunny charm that makes his scenes feel like a breather from Veronica's usual sparring. The show gets real comic and romantic mileage from a nice guy who has no idea he's being used.
