Leela Clones

Multiple versions of Leela, voiced by Katey Sagal, appear identical to the original Planet Express captain in body and voice but exist as separate copies of her. Each carries her same sharp instincts, her one eye, her competence and impatience — replicated rather than diminished, presenting the show with more than one Leela to reckon with at once.

The joke and the unease both come from Katey Sagal doing double or triple duty with the same voice, the same cadence, so that Leela's confidence and short temper multiply instead of splitting apart. It's a neat use of animation's ability to literalize a premise, letting one performance carry an entire crowd of the same person.
