Larry Bishop

Larry Bishop is one of the regulars at the Danebury Metal Detecting Club, turning up to meetings and country digs with the same quiet, unshowy dedication as everyone else. He isn't chasing gold or glory so much as company and the simple pleasure of a good field and a working detector.

David Sterne plays him with the dry, unhurried patience that makes the whole show work: a small gesture or deadpan aside lands harder than any big joke could. Larry is proof that Detectorists finds its comedy and warmth in ordinary people taking a modest hobby, and each other, completely seriously.
