Lara Axelrod

Lara Axelrod is Bobby Axelrod's wife, a former burn-unit nurse who married him before the billions arrived and has no patience for the world that came with them. She runs the household and the family's public image with brisk competence, fiercely protective of her kids and unimpressed by the hangers-on circling her husband's empire.

Akerman plays her as the one person in Axe's orbit who isn't performing for him, which makes her steel land differently than everyone else's. The show lets Lara turn genuinely dangerous when her family is threatened, and Akerman's calm, unhurried delivery makes that menace feel earned rather than showy.
