Langdon Cobb

Langdon Cobb turns up in the sprawling background of Futurama's 31st-century New New York, one of the many oddball faces populating Planet Express's world. He's a minor player, defined more by a moment or two of dry, deadpan delivery than by any grand ambition — the kind of character who exists to needle the edges of the main cast's chaos.

David Herman brings the same flat, put-upon comic timing he's known for elsewhere, and even in a small role that voice does real work — a single line reading can land harder than the joke on the page. Futurama thrives on these glancing, oddly specific bit parts, and Herman's delivery makes Cobb feel like a real person glimpsed for a second.
