Lance Cpl. Harold James Trombley

Trombley is a young machine gunner riding in the back of the Humvee, eager and untested, itching for the invasion to start. He's quick with a joke, quicker to laugh, and clearly hungry to prove himself in combat — a kid who signed up for exactly this and can't wait to find out what it's like.

Billy Lush plays him with an unsettling, boyish brightness that never quite curdles into cliché psychopathy — he's funny, likable, one of the guys, which makes his appetite for violence land harder than if he were simply scary. The show trusts the audience to notice the gap between his cheerfulness and what he's actually doing.
