Kurisu Makise

A brilliant young neuroscientist already publishing papers at eighteen, Kurisu Makise meets the self-styled mad scientist Okabe Rintarou at a Akihabara conference and is immediately unimpressed by his theatrics. Sharp, rational, and quick to puncture nonsense, she gets pulled despite herself into the Future Gadget Lab's increasingly strange experiments.

She's introduced as the skeptic in a show full of believers, and that friction is where the comedy and eventually the heartbreak live. Asami Imai plays her cutting wit and her genuine scientific passion as the same voice, so when the story asks more of her later, the change never feels like a costume swap.
