Kouzou Fuyutsuki

Kouzou Fuyutsuki is NERV's sub-commander, a quiet, silver-haired academic-turned-military officer who stands just behind Gendo Ikari's shoulder at every briefing. He questions orders in private more than in public, watching the Angels attacks unfold with the weary caution of someone who understands more of the organization's machinery than he lets on.

He works as the show's steadiest pair of eyes: a man too senior to be naive and too compromised to intervene, which makes his silences legible in a way louder characters' outbursts aren't. Guil Lunde's dry, measured delivery gives him the gravity of institutional memory, so every raised eyebrow reads as a held-back sentence.
