Kirsten Raymonde

Two decades after a pandemic collapses civilization, Kirsten travels with the Symphony, a troupe of actors and musicians performing Shakespeare for the settlements they pass through. She fights with knives when she has to, quotes Star Trek and a strange graphic novel called Station Eleven, and holds fiercely to the idea that survival isn't enough.

Mackenzie Davis plays hardness and tenderness as the same instinct rather than opposites, so Kirsten's readiness to kill and her devotion to performance never feel contradictory. The show trusts her silences, letting grief surface sideways through gesture and a half-remembered line of dialogue instead of exposition, and Davis makes that restraint feel lived-in rather than withheld.
