Kip 'Half-Sack' Epps

The prospect of the Sons of Anarchy, Half-Sack is the club's newest and lowest member, eager to earn his kutte through humiliating chores and dangerous errands alike. An Army veteran with an injury he jokes about more than anyone's comfortable with, he's puppyish, loyal, and desperate to belong somewhere after the service spat him out.

Johnny Lewis plays him as pure, unguarded warmth in a world of practiced hardness, which makes him instantly likable and slightly heartbreaking to watch operate among men who've learned to hide everything. The show uses his outsider eagerness as comic relief early on, but there's real vulnerability underneath the jokes about his nickname.
