King of Flatbush

The King of Flatbush turns up as one of Futurama's many one-scene oddities, a self-declared royal with a Brooklyn swagger that suggests he rules nothing more than his own block and his own ego. He carries himself with the puffed-up confidence of a man convinced the title means something.

Maurice LaMarche, a voice actor built for grandiose blowhards, gets to stretch a throwaway joke into a fully committed little performance, all bravado and borough-thick bluster. It's the kind of background bit that rewards a second watch, a tiny piece of world-building delivered with total conviction.
