King Kong

In the New New York of the year 3000, King Kong is exactly what he sounds like: a colossal ape scaling skyscrapers, swatting at aircraft, and causing citywide panic, transplanted wholesale from the original monster movie into a future that treats him as a recurring civic nuisance rather than a tragedy.

The joke is that nothing about him has evolved to fit his surroundings — he's still just a giant ape doing giant-ape things, dropped into a world of hover-cars and robot mayors that shrugs him off. Maurice LaMarche gives him the same guttural, mournful roars as the classic film, which makes the incongruity funnier every single time he shows up.
