Kimchee Han

Kimchee works part-time at Kim's Convenience and lives across the street with his mother, close enough to be practically part of the family. He's Jung's oldest friend, endlessly loyal, a little goofy, and drawn into whatever chaos is unfolding in the store — usually as an eager, slightly clumsy accomplice or bystander.

Andrew Phung plays him with such open warmth that Kimchee never feels like a mere sidekick; he's got his own dignity even when the joke's on him. The writing gives him earnestness instead of irony, and that sincerity — paired with sharp comic timing — makes him one of the show's most quietly beloved figures.
