Kevin Richardson

Kevin Richardson is fourteen, gentle and a little wide-eyed, more interested in pigeons and his family than trouble. He is swept up with a group of boys questioned by police after a woman is attacked in Central Park, not understanding at first that anything serious is happening to him, trusting adults who tell him cooperation will help.

Justin Cunningham plays Kevin's innocence without softening it into cliché — the fidgeting, the eagerness to please, the slow dawning that honesty is not protecting him. The performance lets a child's ordinary trust curdle into fear in real time, and the show refuses to let that transformation feel remote from the audience.
