Kevin Garvey Sr. was Mapleton's police chief before the Sudden Departure, and now he's confined to a psychiatric hospital, scribbling in notebooks, hearing voices, and insisting he knows what's coming next. He grabs at his son Kevin Jr. with cryptic warnings about rain and reckonings, half prophet and half patient, utterly certain of his own sanity.

Scott Glenn plays him with a weathered, unblinking conviction that never tips into camp — you can't tell if he's broken or the only one who sees clearly, and the show refuses to resolve that tension. His scenes crackle with a stubborn, dangerous certainty that makes every riddle he offers feel like it might actually matter.
