Kevin Garvey

Kevin Garvey is the police chief of Mapleton, New York, a small town still reeling from the sudden, unexplained disappearance of two percent of the world's population. He's trying to hold his fracturing family and town together while sleepwalking through nights he can't remember, gripping tight to a normalcy that keeps slipping through his hands.

Justin Theroux plays a man clenched with the effort of appearing fine, and the show keeps testing whether he actually is. The character sits at the crossroads of grief and mystery without ever fully explaining himself, and Theroux's physical, often wordless performance makes his unraveling feel dangerous and involuntary rather than staged.
