Character

Ken

Ken in Futurama (1999), played by Billy West.

Ken is a minor face glimpsed in the sprawl of New New York, one of the many small parts Billy West drops his voice into as Futurama fills out its universe. He appears briefly, does what the scene needs, and moves on without demanding the spotlight.

The pleasure here is craft rather than character arc: West slips into another register, another rhythm of speech, and disappears into it so completely that the joke of Futurama's tiny voice cast becomes invisible. Ken exists to prove how deep that bench of voices really goes.

Ken is one of the Nibblonian leaders who helped Fry and Leela save the Earth from the Brain Spawn. Like most Nibblonians, he hates being called cute, despite enjoying to be stroked and playing with a toy mouse on a spring. Along with Nibbler, he does most of the explaining to Fry and Leela.
