Keith Mars

Keith Mars runs a private investigation business out of Neptune, California, after losing his job as sheriff for chasing an unpopular theory about a murder. He's raising his daughter Veronica alone, trading wisecracks with her over takeout, and doing whatever odd jobs keep the lights on while quietly still working the case that ruined him.

Enrico Colantoni plays him without a trace of martyrdom — Keith is funny, tired, and stubbornly decent in a town built on money and cover-ups. The father-daughter rapport with Veronica is the show's warm center, and Colantoni makes his integrity feel lived-in rather than speechy, a rare TV dad who's also a genuinely good detective.
