Keith Charles

Keith Charles is a Los Angeles police officer, disciplined and watchful, moving through the world with a soldier's control. He's involved with David Fisher, whose closeted unease he has little patience for. Keith wants honesty and stability from a partner who keeps hedging, and he doesn't hide his frustration when he doesn't get it.

Mathew St. Patrick plays Keith's composure as armor rather than ease, so every crack in it lands hard. The show lets him be exacting and sometimes unfair without losing sympathy, because his anger is legible: he wants a life built in the open, not managed in secret. That specificity makes him feel like a person, not a foil for David's arc.
