Keel Lorenz

Keel Lorenz appears only as a black monolith on a screen, one voice among the shadowy council of SEELE that stands above NERV and, seemingly, above Gendo Ikari himself. He speaks in clipped, authoritative pronouncements about plans and scenarios never fully explained, giving orders rather than taking them, and clearly answering to no one visible.

The character works entirely through absence: no face, no body, just a geometric shape and a voice, which makes every scene he appears in feel like a glimpse behind a curtain that should stay closed. Rick Peeples plays him with a flat, unhurried calm that turns bureaucratic dialogue into something quietly menacing, suggesting vast stakes without ever raising his voice.
