Kayla Schaeffer

Kayla is the boss's daughter, installed at the talent agency with a title nobody quite trusts her to earn. She fires off texts in a register somewhere between HR memo and group chat, oversharing and undertrained, desperate to be seen as a player. She wants in on the real decisions and has no idea how far she is from them.

Megan Stalter plays incompetence like a form of confidence, never once signaling that Kayla knows she's out of her depth, which makes every mangled pitch and inappropriate aside land as pure comic surprise. The show could have made her a punchline and stop there; Stalter makes her oddly endearing instead.
