Katie is the enigmatic head of Devs, the secretive quantum computing division at Amaya, working under Forest's authority but running her own inscrutable priorities. She is precise, unsettlingly calm, and quick to remove anyone who threatens the project's secrecy. What she actually wants, and how far she'll go for it, stays hidden behind her composure.

Alison Pill plays Katie with a flat, controlled stillness that makes her the show's most quietly frightening presence—she never raises her voice, yet every scene she's in carries menace. Garland's script gives her cryptic authority rather than exposition, and Pill fills the silences with something colder and more calculating than warmth.
