Character
Karis Nemik
Karis Nemik in Andor (2022), played by Alex Lawther.
Nemik is the youngest member of the rebel cell assembling for the Aldhani job, a true believer surrounded by mercenaries and hardened operators. He carries a manifesto he's still writing, certain that revolution is a matter of timing and momentum. Eager, bookish, and openly idealistic, he treats the mission as history in the making rather than a heist.
Andor is full of people who've made peace with compromise, and Nemik is the show's refusal to let that be the only option. Alex Lawther plays his conviction without irony or condescension, so the manifesto reads as genuine political thought rather than naive posturing. He gives the Rebellion a mind before it has an army.
Karis Nemik was a human male freedom fighter who served as part of a team assigned to steal the quarterly payroll of the Galactic Empire's base on Aldhani. At the time of the mission, the young Nemik was a passionate and idealistic supporter of anti-Imperial causes and was in the stages of drafting a manifesto detailing his thoughts on the Empire and its rampant oppression of the galaxy.
