Kanji Koganegawa

A towering first-year middle blocker at Date Tech, Koganegawa arrives loud, earnest, and desperate to prove himself. He hypes his own spikes with booming self-narration before the ball even lands, wilts dramatically at criticism, and looks to his captain for approval like a puppy that just knocked over a lamp.

His comedy is physical and total — the show milks that towering frame against his puppyish overreactions, always landing the joke a beat past where you expect it to stop. Shouji plays him with total sincerity, which is what makes Koganegawa's meltdowns and small triumphs equally funny and, unexpectedly, kind of moving.
