Kage

Kage is a young thief from the secretive Shadow Clan, trained in stealth and knife-work, who crosses paths with Bojji, the kingdom's small, deaf, sword-less prince. Wary and self-reliant, Kage keeps people at arm's length and works for pay rather than loyalty, sizing up every situation with a quiet, watchful calculation before deciding whether to help.

The show uses Kage's guardedness to slowly dismantle itself — every small act of unasked-for help chips at the character's own insistence that this is just a job. Ayumu Murase plays that erosion with clipped, deadpan delivery that never begs for sympathy, so when warmth finally slips through, it lands because it was earned, not announced.
