K-2SO

K-2SO is a reprogrammed Imperial security droid, tall and blunt, now attached to Cassian Andor's operation. He speaks in flat, unsentimental candor, stating odds and objections without diplomacy, loyal to Cassian in a way he never bothers to soften. He carries himself like muscle with a conscience, unimpressed by rank or danger.

Alan Tudyk finds the joke in deadpan honesty rather than quips, so K-2SO lands as funny precisely because he isn't trying to be. Against Andor's grim, morally exhausted world, his tactless bluntness reads as a strange kind of integrity — a machine incapable of the small lies people tell each other to get through the day.
