Jung Kim

Jung is the prodigal son of the Kim family, working the front desk at a car rental office and living above it with his friend Kimchi. Once estranged from his father over a rough teenage past, he's now rebuilding ties with his parents and sister while trying to make something steady of his own life.

Simu Liu plays Jung with an easy, self-deprecating charm that keeps him from becoming a redemption cliché — he's funny about his own screwups without excusing them. The show lets his awkward détente with Appa breathe rather than rushing to resolve it, and Liu finds real warmth underneath the deadpan.
