Julian Marcus

Julian is one of Dory's closest friends in New York, an aspiring writer with strong opinions and a habit of holding forth on culture and politics. When Dory becomes obsessed with finding a missing acquaintance, Julian is skeptical but gets pulled along, more curious about the group dynamic than the mystery itself.

Brandon Micheal Hall gives Julian a self-satisfied intelligence that the show quietly punctures scene by scene — he's the friend who always has a take, and the joke is how little that take is actually worth. Hall plays the smugness so lightly that watching it curdle into panic later is genuinely funny.
