Julia Brasher

Julia Brasher is a rookie LAPD patrol officer who came to the job late, after another life entirely, and she wears that history like confidence rather than doubt. She's direct, unafraid of rank, and drawn to Harry Bosch with an ease that suggests she's used to going after what interests her.

Annie Wersching plays her without any of the wide-eyed newbie shtick the role could have invited — Brasher is self-possessed, funny, faintly reckless, a grown woman who chose this career rather than fell into it. That maturity makes her pursuit of Bosch feel like an equal meeting an equal, which is rarer on this show than it should be.
