Josto Fadda

Josto Fadda has just inherited leadership of Kansas City's Italian crime family, and he wears the job badly. Petulant, thin-skinned, and constantly measuring himself against sturdier men, he postures through meetings he doesn't fully control, desperate for respect he can't quite command from his own family or his rivals.

Schwartzman plays power as a costume that doesn't fit, all nervous energy and wounded vanity where the role calls for menace. Fargo's writing gives him wonderful, squirmy dialogue full of face-saving lies, and Schwartzman finds the comedy and pathos in a man promoted past his competence and terrified everyone can tell.
