Joshua Felix "Josh" Chan

Josh Chan is the golden-retriever ex-boyfriend whose chance run-in on a New York street sends Rebecca Bunch chasing him across the country to West Covina. Sweet, sunny, a little oblivious, he's happy just playing volleyball and eating tacos with his friends, with no idea he's become the center of someone else's entire life plan.

The show's trick is casting its love interest as basically a nice, uncomplicated guy and then slowly asking what happens when someone builds a fantasy around a person too ordinary to hold it. Vincent Rodriguez III plays him with genuine warmth and comic doofiness, so you understand the appeal without ever mistaking him for the point.
